Imaging photometer (Video photometer)

Along with conventional single sensors, imaging photometers are well-established imaging systems to capture photometric parameters. The advantages are mentioned below:

  1. The time needed is considerably reduced
    for the evaluation of complex luminous distributions (L, I, E and others as a function of location or direction) or is even possible with image-resolving measuring techniques only.
     
  2. Information on the geometrical interrelation
    between the points to be measured exist already in the measured image.
     
  3. A later reproduction of the measurements
    is possible due to the storage of different captured scenes.
     
  4. Even in automatic processes,
    the available interfaces allow a complex evaluation (production control, use of motion stages…).
